Dinner Event with Shannon Watts
August 28th in Burlingame
Fight Like a Mother
How a Grassroots Movement Took on the Gun Lobby and Why Women Will Change the World
In the wake of the recent (and close to home) Gilroy Garlic Festival gun violence tragedy, we invite you as concerned moms and citizens to join us for dinner, book-signing, and discussion with Moms Demand Action Founder Shannon Watts, author of the new book, “Fight Like A Mother”. This dinner will be held at the home of Donna Colson, the Mayor of Burlingame.
Stephen Luciano Romero was the innocent 6-year-old who lost his life on July 28th in a family outing at the Gilroy festival. At least two others were killed and 15 people injured at the festival.
A terrifying fact: This is the 246th mass shooting in the United States this year. We are sickened by this. It is absolutely unacceptable and instead of us being sad, it’s time to get mad and fight back. As Shannon will discuss with us, we must elect officials at the local, state, and national level who care about common sense gun reform and are brave enough to do something about it. We will hear more about what action we can take to make a difference.
Come out and enjoy being an activist at this dinner and meet like-minded moms/women who want to never again hear of a mass shooting tragedy in Northern California or anywhere else.

All tickets include a signed copy of Shannon's Book, FIGHT LIKE A MOHTER: How a Grassroots Movement Took on the Gun Lobby and Why Women Will Change the World, plus dinner and Shannon's interactive presentation.
