Frequently Asked Questions

Where Are The Happy Women Dinner Events Held?

All Happy Women events are held in private homes with volunteer hosts (if you would like to host a Happy Women Dinner event with an author in your home, please email Jill@HappyWomenDinners.com for more information on hosting in your city).

What Is The Cost To Attend?

Registration ranges from $100-175 per person depending on the author. Your ticket includes brunch or dinner and a signed copy of the featured book.

Are these events women-only?

Every now and then a well-behaved man in touch with his feminine side joins us but usually it’s just women.

How many women attend each event?

It varies between 10 to 75 depending on the size of the house and the demand to see the author.

Are your events alcohol free?

Typically yes. It’s up to the host of the event if they want to provide wine or not.

Can you accommodate special diets?

We typically have a menu that has options for vegetarians and gluten free. We cannot accommodate a celiac diet. If you have celiac or serious food allergies/intolerances, you are welcome to bring your own food.

What is your refund policy?

All of the events are non-refundable. Should there be a cancellation from our end or yours, you will receive a credit in the amount you paid towards a future event of the same kind. In-person events credits can be applied to other in-person events not virtual events. If you sign up for a virtual event and you cannot attend, you will receive the recording. All virtual events are always recorded.

What is the structure of a HappyWomenDinners event?

It is a two hour event at a private home. The first hour is a simultaneous book signing and family style brunch or dinner. The 2nd hour is a facilitated Q & A with the author about the themes of the book. You receive your book copy at the event and are not expected to have read anything in advance. The in-person events are not book clubs.

Can you connect me with other women that I meet at the event?

Logistically and for privacy reasons we cannot do this but if you make a new friend, please do suggest exchanging contact information between the two of you. A lot of women have made wonderful connections at our events.

Where does the food for the event come from?

We work with different restaurants in each city on our menus. Occasionally we will also work with a private chef.

Can I give my in-person spot to a friend if I cannot attend?

Absolutely. We need her name and email to make the switch.
